How MICS International Nearly Tripled Its Advisory Reach in the UAE's Fastest-Changing Tax Era

3X
Expansion in campaign reach
94%
Average email delivery rate
62%
Average WhatsApp read rate

Since 2023, MICS International has run a continuous cadence of regulatory communication for clients navigating one of the world’s fastest-changing tax environments – Corporate Tax, VAT, AML, and transfer pricing rules that have all shifted within a few years of each other. Over that time, MICS’s contact base grew from roughly 40,000 to more than 117,000. Netcore helped the team keep its communication relevant and dependable at that size, through topic-based segmentation and a second channel for time-sensitive updates.

Working with Netcore, MICS organised its email programme by regulatory theme rather than as one-size-fits-all sends, and layered WhatsApp alongside email specifically for the moments that couldn’t wait – webinar reminders, training notices, filing deadlines. Both channels now run from a single platform, giving the team one view of what’s landing and what isn’t.

About MICS International

MICS International is a corporate and financial advisory firm headquartered in Dubai (JLT), with additional offices across the UAE and India. The firm helps businesses set up, operate, and stay compliant in the UAE, offering audit, accounting, corporate tax, VAT, transfer pricing, AML compliance, and company formation and PRO services.

Industry Context

The UAE tax environment has shifted fast – Corporate Tax landed for financial years from June 2023, VAT enforcement has sharpened, and e-invoicing is moving toward mandatory. As MICS’s own leadership has put it, businesses that thrived in a simpler tax era now navigate a layered set of obligations touching structure, operations, and reporting at once. For an advisory firm, that makes client communication part of staying compliant, not just marketing – a missed message carries a real cost. The stakes are higher still on WhatsApp, used monthly by roughly 86% of UAE internet users aged 16-64 (DataReportal, Digital 2025).

For an advisory firm, expertise is the product and marketing is how that expertise gets noticed. As the UAE’s tax rules kept changing, MICS had four goals:

  • Expand market reach and growth potential. Each new rule, from Corporate Tax to e-invoicing, sent more businesses looking for guidance. MICS wanted to be the firm they found first, and to grow its audience as fast as the demand for clarity was growing.
  • Increase visibility and demand for its expertise. Audit, AML, transfer pricing, DIFC, and e-filing each draw a different set of clients. The aim was for MICS’s name to come up in each of those conversations, so that a new rule led to a call to MICS.
  • Turn a larger audience into a scalable business opportunity. A bigger list only helps if each person on it still hears something that applies to them. MICS wanted growth that held its relevance, so a larger audience meant more opportunity and not just more volume.
  • Scale marketing operations. That meant frequent, topic-specific campaigns plus a faster channel alongside email for the moments that couldn’t wait, such as a webinar reminder or a filing deadline. MICS needed a programme that could keep that pace as both the rules and the audience kept growing.

Strategy Implementation

1. Segment the audience by regulatory topic

Working with MICS, Netcore’s team mapped the firm’s regulatory calendar – audit, AML, transfer pricing, DIFC, e-filing – onto a segmentation model, so campaigns followed what clients actually needed to act on, not a single broadcast list. The decision that mattered here wasn’t “send more emails” – it was building segments around the regulation, not the client type.

2. Separate depth from urgency, deliberately

Email stayed the channel for regulatory depth. WhatsApp was added only where timing decided the outcome – a training notice, a filing deadline – because a well-written explainer and a same-day reminder don’t belong in the same queue. Netcore guided which content went where, rather than treating channel choice as a formatting decision.

3. Put both channels under one line of sight

Running email and WhatsApp on the same platform meant MICS could see, in one place, whether a theme was landing or a channel was underperforming – rather than reconciling two separate reports to find out.

4. Let engagement patterns, not instinct, decide what changed next

Netcore tracked how clients engaged across both email and WhatsApp and shared what the data showed. MICS used it to decide what to change next, from send times to subject lines to design, so each round of campaigns was shaped by how clients had responded to the last.

Reach grew – relevance held

Growing a contact base 3X usually costs a firm its specificity. Segmenting by regulation, not broadcasting once, let MICS avoid that trade-off.

  • Nearly 3X the planned audience reach.
  • 94% average delivery rate, sustained as the base scaled.
  • 15% average unique open rate, with 25%+ peaks on flagship AML, audit, and transfer pricing webinars.

WhatsApp carried the urgency email couldn’t

Used only for time-sensitive sends, WhatsApp held its read rate as volume climbed, a sign clients kept opening reminders as MICS sent far more of them.

Average read rate on delivered messages

5.5%

10X+

Reach growth, with read rates steady above 60%

MICS has since expanded its use of WhatsApp on the same platform, a sign that the channel mix built for urgency-driven regulatory content is now core infrastructure rather than a one-off addition. As the UAE’s compliance calendar keeps shifting, that same segmented, two-channel approach – run from one place – gives MICS a foundation to keep pace without rebuilding its content operation each time the rules change.

“

"Netcore gave us a single place to manage both our email and WhatsApp communications. Email lets us go deep on regulatory updates and webinars, while WhatsApp helps us reach clients quickly when timing matters. Together, they've made our outreach feel a lot more connected. Having both channels on one platform makes the whole process much easier to manage."
